A celebration of Italian cuisine

Located on the corner of Montgomery and Pacific Avenues in San Francisco’s historic Jackson Square, Cotogna is an Italian restaurant known for housemade pastas, spit-roasted and grilled meats, and seafood roasted in the restaurant’s wood-burning oven. The word ‘cotogna’ is Italian for ‘quince.’ The restaurant is a more casual and convivial counterpart to Chef Michael and Lindsay Tusk’s decorated fine dining restaurant next door.

The menu changes daily according to what’s growing at local farms, including Fresh Run in Bolinas.

Every Friday from 3:00PM - 6:00PM, meet us on Pacific Avenue for our weekly Farmers Market! Featuring same-day harvested, organic produce from Fresh Run Farm, our house-made pasta and sauces, specialty Italian provisions, wines to-go, freshly baked breads, and more.

Whether you’re gathering family or entertaining a small group of friends, or colleagues, Cotogna offers several options. For 6-12 guests, we are pleased offer our Chef's Table or private outdoor dining terrace experience - our rustic farm table is the ultimate expression of season farm-to-table dining. Our dining room and outdoor terrace is also available for exclusive use. Plan a virtual wine or cooking class, cater for your holiday dinner or join us in the country at our Farm in Bolinas. Fresh Run Farm, or at a location of your choosing, we will bring the Cotogna experience to you.

As of Friday, August 20, 2021, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for patrons wishing to eat indoors at restaurants in San Francisco. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be asked to show your vaccination card; a legible photocopy of the card, or a photograph of the card on your cellphone, and/or a Digital COVID-19 CA state vaccine record QR code . We will also continue requiring masks and social distancing throughout the restaurant per current City health mandate requirements.
