A celebration of Italian cuisine

Located on the corner of Montgomery and Pacific Avenues in San Francisco’s historic Jackson Square, Cotogna is an Italian restaurant known for housemade pastas, spit-roasted and grilled meats, and seafood roasted in the restaurant’s wood-burning oven. The word ‘cotogna’ is Italian for ‘quince.’ The restaurant is a more casual and convivial counterpart to Chef Michael and Lindsay Tusk’s decorated fine dining restaurant next door.


The menu changes daily according to what’s growing at local farms, including Fresh Run in Bolinas.

COVID safety protocols

Over the summer, we implemented health screening practices and installed new technologies for enhanced air filtration, ventilation and purification to mitigate the spread of virus and ensure the safety of our guests and employees. In keeping with local regulation, tables are spaced 6 feet apart.

Along our quiet tree-lined street, we built a European-style streetside terrace filled with olive trees, herb plants and edible flowers. The dining area is sheltered and outfitted with heaters, blankets and umbrellas.

Chef Michael Tusk offers a daily-changing menu of cook-at-home items and prepared foods; including housemade pasta, ragus and sauces, curated meal kits and family meals. For special occasions and holidays we offer speciality and luxury items for your celebration at home.

Whether you’re gathering family or entertaining a small group of friends, or colleagues, Cotogna offers several options. Plan an event outdoors in Jackson Square or join us in the country at our Farm in Bolinas. Fresh Run Farm, or at a location of your choosing, we will bring the Cotogna experience to you.
